I brought my camera along on our outing to the library because I was excited to shoot in a change of scenery. I should have brought a wider lens but alas I wasn’t that forward thinking. After we arrived I realized that I could just back up as far as I was comfortable doing to get some resemblance of wide angles even though I was using my 50mm.
My son needed to do some research for two projects he has coming up. He was looking at books about the ocean.
He was getting frustrated at the lack of information on his particular topic.
He liked this one for the pretty pictures but it didn’t provide him what he needed.
Then he found the exact book he wanted.
On the other end of the library this little girl looks at kids magazines after taking a break coloring with her sister.
She then walks over to the early reader section to find books more her speed.
She settled on a book about policemen and was able to read the whole book to us with little help.
My kids love the library. Thanks for coming along with us on our not-so wide angle adventure.
Now please keep the circle going by clicking over to Jane Brown & Co Photography of Montgomery, AL to see if her shots are more wide than mine.

I love that first image, with its framing! Ha, I know that’s next week’s theme, but it is really great!
These are all fun – and your library has great light!!
Yes! Stepping back! Great thinking!
I love the library shots! I think I may have to take my camera next time I go. Vegas has this one wonderful new library with huge floor to ceiling windows that we used to love to go to. Alas we are no longer there…the one library we go to here would be a practice in low light shooting (and tight spaces!)
I love these. Great job!
these are great Jessica!! I love the first one.
I love the first image too! Love all of them! What great captures for some wonderful memories!
I love the library and what perfect images you got there! Love the perspective on these!
EKKKKKKK, we love the library too!!!! Free entertainment…lol
I love that first shot too!!!!!
Wonderful how your pictures tell a story.
Great idea to capture photos of your son at the library. Hmmmm…..I might just have to do the same!
I really enjoyed these!
I really need to take my camera to the library with us next time – these are wonderful!!!
Perfect! Gah, this makes me want my youngest to grow up! (how sad is that – no mom says that!!) I am so challenged by a not-quite two year old in settings like this. You’ve done a beautiful job capturing this! I can feel the ‘quiet’ in these, yet they are so bright. And good job on the not-so…. it-really-is!….. wide angle!!!
Love the framing of the rows in the Library. I’ve always wanted to shoot there, but never been brave enough… Might need to try it now!
Love it! I did some engagement photos in the library once… so fun!!!
Awesome job! I love taking my daughter to the library! It’s crazy how ipads, kindles are taking over books these days…I hope libraries still exist for our kids, kids!
These are beautiful! I love library shots. The perspective from down low of the first shot along with the framing of the shelves is so perfect! I love the shots of your daughter in the stacks too. Such creative composition!
These are awesome. I love the perspective you have, the framing and the lines in your images.
